Released by Innersloth in 2018, the multiplayer sensation Among Us catapults players into an extraterrestrial environment. This game divides players into two distinct groups: a predominant number of members are designated as Crewmates, with a select few secretly playing the deceitful role of Impostors. Team members bear the responsibility of identifying the Deceivers, casting them out of the play, and effectively completing a myriad of tasks dispersed throughout the terrain. Concurrently, Impostors are assigned a covert task to sabotage the effort and eliminate the Crewmates prior to the completion of their duties. Victory for the Crewmates materializes when they successfully oust all Impostors or achieve all task-related objectives, while Impostors claim their win by balancing the number of impostors and Crewmates, or orchestrating a critical sabotage that is left unresolved.

Gameplay

Tasked with unmasking and ousting the deceptive Interlopers, the Crewmates vigilantly tackle objectives and stay alert to any sinister conduct, ready to alert their comrades-in-arms. To secure victory, these vigilant spacefarers exercise strategic prowess, casting votes to exile the suspected deceivers, signalling the unfortunate end of their compatriots, and thwarting the nefarious schemes hatched by these pretenders. Meanwhile, these cunning Impostors stealthily wreak havoc within the ranks, their mission being to quietly thwart the unified effort and methodically remove Crewmates from the equation before their mission duties reach fruition. They artfully weave a tapestry of distrust, mastermind the unexpected ruin of their targets, and deftly undermine the collective tasks that would otherwise lead to their discovery and defeat.

Graphics

By and large, the game's visuals boast a lifelike quality, save for the depiction of the Crewmates' characters. These avatars are crafted from an array of geometric forms and feature luminescent streaks that serve as their eyes. In contrast, the Impostors' representations bear a mechanical essence, exhibiting monochromatic bodies with their eyes emitting a steady, unvarying hue as they blink.

Information about replayability

Currently, the Among Us is available for play on both the Android/iOS operating systems. Future launches are anticipated with a November 2018 rollout for Windows users, followed by an expansion to the Nintendo Switch ecosystem in December 2020. Players can explore the game across four distinct environments: The Skeld, located within the icy confines of the Arctic; MIRA HQ, nestled within a clandestine scientific research base; Polus, situated atop a vast expanse of icy sea; and The Airship, soaring in a spacecraft circling a mysterious celestial body.
