The Noir-Styled 'Fallen Aces' Releases a Riveting New Gameplay Preview

New Blood Interactive is set to launch an upcoming shooter named Fallen Aces that aesthetic is reminiscent of the 1930s but plays as if it were from the 1990s - a characteristic considered desirable in this instance.

Nine minutes of gameplay that debuted during Realms Deep 2023 today showcased what appears to be the game's initial stages. The main character, Mike, awakens in his apartment, suffering from a hangover, falls out of bed, and has a sandwich, before receiving a call informing him that many people intend to end his life. What ensues is a violent spectacle of Mike deploying stealthy neck chops and first-person brawling to fight his way out of his apartment and through the neighborhood to a friend's residence. One highlight was a moment when he lifts a knocked-out adversary and hurls him at another.

The official game description reads, "'The A.C.E.S.', vigilant protectors of Switchblade City, are being taken down, one at a time. Now, the responsibility of uncovering the truth falls on one man with two fists." The summary is intriguing.

The game’s intriguing pulp-era universe especially piques interest, given at least one screenshot, it's certain that these "A.C.E.S." individuals, who resemble masked pulp superheroes rather than Mike, Fallen Aces' protagonist resembling a hardened detective like The Shadow, The Phantom, or Green Hornet, will make appearances.

Fallen Aces is available for discovery on Steam but has not been given a set release date yet. The game is being developed by the team of Trey Powell and Jason Bond, and an older version of the demo is available for those who enjoy trying out games before they are released
