During San Diego Comic-Con, NetherRealm Studios unveiled exciting news for Mortal Kombat 1, announcing their plans for the game's second year. This forthcoming content bundle is set to introduce six new fighters, evenly split between iconic Mortal Kombat characters and beloved guests from other major franchises.
Named the Khaos Reigns, this second-year expansion is scheduled to launch on September 24. The initial release will welcome back three familiar faces from the Mortal Kombat universe: Noob Saibot, Cyrax, and Sektor. While Noob Saibot is making his MK1 debut, Cyrax and Sektor are not strangers to the game, given their current availability as Kameo fighters.
During the course of the year, gamers can anticipate the introduction of three surprise fighters, though the specific dates of their debut are still a mystery. Fans will eventually have the chance to fight as Ghostface from Scream, Conan the Barbarian, and the T-1000 from Terminator 2: Judgment Day.
The Khaos Reigns expansion will offer more than just new fighters. A fresh storyline will take center stage, focusing on Havok's ongoing mischief, including reviving Sub-Zero as Noob Saibot. This robust content update will be available for $49.99 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X, with a slightly lower price of $39.99 for the Switch version. It's important to note that the Kombat Pack 2 is not available for standalone purchase.
