Bask in the Glory of Your Arsenal: Cyberpunk 2077's Latest Feature

Immersing yourself in the gritty yet dazzling world of Night City in Cyberpunk 2077 just got even more engrossing. The game’s latest 2.0 update stealthily added a feature that gaming enthusiasts are finding delightful. It enhances player interaction with their weapons in a way that magnifies the game's already rich aesthetic and thematic design.

Initially, in Cyberpunk 2077, special animations would play the first time the protagonist character, V, pulls out a weapon. These ranged from a suave pistol-twirling move, checking a revolver’s cylinder, to even more intricate moves for the game’s special weapons. However, these pleasurable visuals were a one-off treat, subsequently replaced by simpler unholstering moves. The recent update stealthily changes this, enshrining the thrill of the first equip.

The "first equip" weapon animation is now available on command. Depending on the key presses, players can witness those vibrant weapon animations whenever they wish. This isn't limited to a single command but extends to the variety of ways a weapon can be drawn in the game. From the "holster/unholster weapon" command with the B key to the number keys for direct access to your equipped arsenal, players are now in for an extra dose of coolness.

There is a slight difference, however, with the "cycle weapon" command bound to the left Alt. To enjoy the first equip animation here, players will have to double-tap the Alt key. While not a drastic departure from the others, it still gives a different feel. Though the update doesn't include a dedicated button for admiring your weapon from all angles like in other recent shooters, this subtle addition highlights Cyberpunk's unique angle of user interaction.

This updated feature is a testament to the developers' listening ear to their gaming populace, as players had requested this ability since the game's initial release in December 2020. Though it took a while, their response showed dedication and attention to detail in enhancing player experience. The 2.0 update has definitely ignited the excitement in Night City. With the ability to easily rewatch weapon animations and new weaponry introduced, Cyberpunk 2077 continues to enchant with its cybernetic allure. Enjoy your arsenal, one twirl at a time!
